MRCOOL DIY Coupler Kit with Extended Communication Cable
The MRCOOL DIY Coupler Kit lets you safely extend the length of MRCOOL DIY Quick Connect line sets when a longer run is needed. By joining two compatible Quick Connect line sets together, this kit helps you increase total piping length without buying a full additional line set or using specialized HVAC tools.
When the couplers are tightened, the internal valve cores open automatically to allow refrigerant to flow between both line sets while maintaining a sealed connection. This eliminates the need for vacuum pumps, manifold gauges, cutting, or brazing, making it well suited for DIY installations.
The kit includes liquid and suction line couplers along with insulation and heat-shrink sleeves to protect connections and reduce condensation. It also includes a heavy-duty DIY MC5 Pro communication cable to link the indoor air handler to the outdoor condenser over extended distances. This cable is specifically engineered for outdoor HVAC applications and offers enhanced resistance to moisture, abrasion, temperature extremes, and UV exposure compared with standard control wiring.
The inclusion of this rugged communication cable is a key factor in the kit’s cost. Because it is designed to withstand harsher environmental conditions and longer runs, it helps prevent signal loss and installation damage, providing greater long-term reliability in extended setups.
